The ambience of the place feels like slipping into a comfortable pair of jeans. I didn’t dislike anything, it’s just that the restoration of this: Historica, pub, is still a work in progress. The balcony is still closed to the public.

This is an old hotel—an 1878 hotel. Some might see it as needing work; I see that the less you do, the more the old‑time charm remains. Be prepared! The extremely long trains go through town all night. If you’re a train person, get up and watch them—about 75 carriages! Fascinating. If you’re not, bring earplugs. I actually slept pretty well but loved watching the trains between sleep. Massive room! Spooky lighting around the door in the middle of the night 😅😅. My room was far from the toilet, which isn’t good when you have detrusor instability! Haha.

I love that such an important part of NSW Heritage continues to thrive and is being lovingly restored. The staff are friendly, the food is yummy and the beds are very comfy. I didn't like that I was only there for a short stay :( it would have been nice to have stayed longer and explore the surrounding areas

The rooms were clean and comfortable, but the Chicken Schnitzel didn't match my best experiences.
