How guests rate the property, aspect by aspect.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good; the location was also great. Using the underground passages, I reached Yamagata station in about 7 minutes without stopping at any traffic lights. The view from the upper floors was amazing. However, the facilities were poor: the AC controlled the whole floor, so I couldn’t adjust it myself. The room was quite small, the bathroom faucet was very low, and the shower was difficult to use.

I thought the place was clean, but the front desk was always empty. I was excited for breakfast because it had a good reputation, yet it was disappointing; the sweet potato stew was only average, and my local friend said the potatoes were hard and not tasty. A note in the bath warned that taking the bowl would cause water to overflow, but I didn’t move it and the water still spilled, turning the bathroom into a mess; I thought I was the only one, but my friend had the same issue. On top of that, from 12:00 am to 5:00 am the power went out, which was the worst part.

Breakfast was delicious over the three mornings, the room was spacious and quiet, and the welcome was warm. The carpet in the room was old and dirty, the mattress was very soft, and the armchair was broken and unusable.
