The welcome was very good, the bed was spacious and comfortable, the terrace was pleasant with no neighbours, and the beach was easily accessible. Nights were calm and enjoyable.

The location was great—there’s a walkway to the lagoon right across the road. The room was spacious, fully equipped, and had a small outdoor area that was nice. A couple of cafes and bars are also nearby. The host was very kind, helpful, and responsive. I can’t think of anything negative.

The location was good, but the kitchen was hardly self‑contained: it had no sink or running water, so washing dishes in a hand basin next to the toilet felt unhygienic. There was no space for food preparation, no cooking utensils, and no cooking element. The lighting in the main room and kitchen was inadequate, making them feel like a cave. All instructions were only in French, and a simple kitchen bench with a sink would have helped. Small items like salt and pepper are usually supplied.

The four‑poster bed was huge and incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom—complete with towels—matched a hotel’s quality. The hammock outside was perfect for lounging, and the setting was very peaceful, overlooking mature trees in a garden. A three‑minute walk brought us to the stretches of Poe’s white sand beach, which we enjoyed all to ourselves; the water was clear and warm, and the lagoon was mostly sea‑grass with just a few coral bits, making it safe to swim. Occasionally a turtle would poke its head near the shore. We should have taken the free single kayak to paddle out to the reef, and the nearby Deva domain offered great walking routes. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. A downside was the lack of a reading light near the sofa; we moved one from the bed and it made a big difference. The kitchen only has a fridge and microwave, so it’s fine for simple meals, though the coffee pod machine is great.

The host was available and the place was clean, located well, and very quiet. The accommodation was spacious.
