“Home from home at Rangana Guesthouse”

We left with hearts full after a truly wonderful stay with this gorgeous family! The location was perfect for exploring Sigiriya and its attractions. The whole family worked together to arrange every activity and transport we needed at reasonable prices. Mum was a brilliant chef, serving the best homemade Sri Lankan meals each evening at a fair cost upon request, while her daughter cooked a feast for breakfast each morning, always accommodating our early trips. No request was too big for this lovely family! We loved their cooking so much that we couldn't resist taking a cooking class with mum and daughter. We like to try cooking classes wherever we go, and this one was one of the most authentic, tasty, and fun experiences ever—just ask for a private class if you stay here! They speak limited English and the kitchen is small, but that only added to the charm. The brother was always ready to help and spoke excellent English. The room was clean and spacious, with large comfortable beds and mosquito nets for extra peace of mind (though we didn't see any mosquitoes during our stay). We were sad to leave and already miss our new Sri Lankan family! Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Sigiri Guesthouse! The location is prime and within walking distance to everything, including great restaurants. It's super easy to rent a cycle right from the property to explore both Lion Rock and Pidurangal Rock. The room was amazing and very comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised by how few mosquitoes we saw (hardly 1–2!). While there is no AC and the room did get quite warm during the day, it was definitely manageable. Best of all, sitting out on the porch with family in the evenings was wonderfully windy and cool. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!
