“Hillscapes Guesthouse, a home away from home.”
Everything was world‑class: the room, the food, the 180‑degree sea view, and the outstanding service from Jo‑Anne and Owen. Breakfast was a culinary highlight—coffee, fruit juice, yoghurt, muesli, freshly baked bread, scones, eggs cooked to order, bacon, sausage, and potato rosti’s. Dinner could be arranged, and Jo‑Anne again went above and beyond, preparing three‑course meals on each occasion, featuring locally caught fresh fish one night and a delicious beef dish the next. The guesthouse itself is beautifully furnished, with ample space to relax upstairs in the library and lounge, and outside where you can enjoy the sea view and a gentle coastal breeze. The ensuite room was supremely comfortable, opening onto a salt‑chlorinated pool set in Jo‑Anne’s magnificent garden. High‑quality linen and a king‑size extra‑long bed were perfect for recovering after a demanding year. The room was cleaned daily, and the towels were replaced each day. A bar fridge and coffee service were available for daily use. There was plenty of storage, a safe, DSTV (full bouquet), and laundry service. The last evening was spent chatting with Jo‑Anne and Owen, with drinks and snacks. Before heading home, Jo‑Anne prepared a breakfast snack box for the journey. Hillscapes feels like a home away from home, and I plan to return in 2025. I can’t remember the last time I felt so rested and comfortable on holiday, and I recommend Hillscapes without reservation. There was nothing I didn’t like; the entire experience is world‑class.
