When I asked about the itinerary, they gave a good suggestion and even let me use the partner hotel’s parking.

The location was gorgeous with easy bus access, and the private onsens were a treat. The food was amazing and the hosts were very kind. I just wish there were more towels in the room, because using the same ones for showering and the onsen left them a bit damp.

The room was roomy, with spots to brew tea, chat, and relax. The onsen was large and well maintained, and the privacy of the place was appreciated. Getting there was tough; the bus schedule was very limited and the village offered nothing. Their menu was pricey, with only a tasting menu or a single dish available, so having no other options nearby made paying for every plate at dinner feel like a lot of pressure. Dinner started at 18:30, which meant you couldn’t leave in the afternoon because buses run hourly and take an hour and a half to reach the hotel.

Room 101 was spacious, had a private toilet and shower, a comfy bedroom, and a separate sitting area. The meals were simple but excellent, and the staff were attentive and friendly. Another highlight was the free private onsen, which was relaxing. The ryokan’s traditional vibe shows in its furnishings and location. However, our first‑floor room had a strong mold smell that lingered on my clothes, which was especially bad for me because I’m very sensitive to mold. Also, there’s a 700‑yen extra fee that can only be paid in cash, and I would have preferred that to be included in the total price when booking.
