The location, decor, and atmosphere were great, but we were asked what we wanted for breakfast before we even stepped inside; there was no breakfast menu and the options offered were limited.

We stayed at a beautiful old English pub with sofas by a roaring fire, and the lounge/dining area offered amazing food that even let us bring our dogs; the next morning we were greeted with a delicious breakfast of freshly made English fare, toast and yoghurt. The pub sits right next door to Montacute House, a place rich in history. Ann and Charles made us feel very welcome and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

The building’s history and the owner’s story were really great, and the experience felt very person‑centred, making me feel valued as a visitor; the room matched the character of the property.
