The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, and the common areas with a self‑service bar are also cozy. Parking right behind the hotel is convenient. The breakfast is meticulously prepared in a Nordic style with a wide selection of savory foods. The staff give great suggestions for local restaurants, especially since the hotel’s own restaurant only opens for breakfast.

The staff are very friendly. You can use the sauna and the communal room even if the staff aren’t there. It would have helped to note that the wellness area is time‑restricted because the reception has to turn it on and off and it’s paid. We were looking forward to it, but by evening we wouldn’t have had enough time.

Parking is located behind the hotel, there’s a balcony, and an elevator. I usually look for hotels with a restaurant, but this one only opens for lunch, which wasn’t clear in the listing. For guests with mobility issues, the staff at reception said there are only restaurants outside reach, and the mobility issue was already announced.

Pokoj parádní včetně vybavení!. Snídaně luxusní! Personál milý a doptávající se zdali je vše v pořádku - palec nahoru! Pobyt jsme si moc užili a pokud do Turnova v budoucnu znovu zavítáme, tak v ubytování máme jasnou volbu - Hotel Karel IV. je jasná volba!

The staff are friendly and the breakfast is excellent, and the room is large and clean. The reception area is modern and the bathroom in the room is new, but the rest of the room feels old, even though it’s kept tidy and functional. I would have liked a fridge in the room, which is normal for hotels of similar quality in the country. The walls are very thin – I could hear the TV in the neighbouring room loudly, and combined with road noise I got very little sleep the first night. Reception closes at 8 pm, so I had nowhere to check if a quieter room was available.
