How guests rate the property, aspect by aspect.
Direct access to the lagoon with hammocks and a truly foreign, natural vibe (eco‑hotel), but I was alone and without a vehicle, had rented a bike at the hostel a few days earlier in Bacalar and it would have been nice if Casa Lamat offered bike rentals – that’s the only thing I’d add, expect 10‑15 minutes by bike to reach Bacalar’s center.

The lagoon is gorgeous and the property sits right at its base; service is excellent, the eco‑conservation effort is significant, and engineer Javi is courteous, friendly, and modest. We were delighted there. The rooms are small but comfortable and well equipped. The location relative to the town center requires transport; it’s neither far nor close, but the opposite. The rise of sargassum in the Caribbean has drawn more visitors and raised prices in Bacalar, and I hope we can all help preserve this paradise.
