The owner gave a warm welcome and everything the hotel offers – a hair dryer, towel, hot water, and coffee – was available. The interior design felt a little intimidating and gave off a spooky vibe, and the price seemed high for the value received.

The place had a unique vibe and décor, and the house itself was built from recycled materials, making the stay an experience in itself. Ingrid was a wonderful and interesting person. We had everything we needed, but we didn’t cook there because we ate at a restaurant, arrived late, and left early.

It’s a good starting point for a detour to Big Bend National Park, and breakfast is recommended at the nearby Café V6 Coffee Bar. The reception was friendly.

The place is full of funky charm, the staff were courteous, and the sunset and night views in Marathon are the best you’ll find for the price. It’s clean, comfortable, and so quiet and peaceful that you forget any stress you brought with you. I highly recommend it as a Bohemian retreat from everyday life.
