“Como eu já conhecia, não me surpreendi”
I had stayed here in 2017 and decided to return. The location is unbeatable. There’s a lot of street noise and the room lacks soundproofing, but anyone who needs to sleep will manage anyway. The bathroom is far from the room; the showers are on the lower floor, accessed by a very steep and dangerous staircase, which was a hassle. The lockers under the bunk beds are like large drawers or cages, which is inconvenient for the other bunk occupant, not practical, heavy, and awful. They could replace them with standard vertical cabinets. The room’s climate control is inadequate; the hostel, like all of Amsterdam, is well prepared for winter, but inside the rooms it’s unbearably hot. They need proper climate control. There’s no kitchen.
