“Beautiful property, but many advertised facilities were not available”
The place itself is gorgeous, the room was spotless, and the pool and view are delightful. Still, the amenities advertised at booking were missing, and the privacy was far less than the listing promised. The listing claimed a private entrance, private bathroom, refrigerator, washing machine, dining area, dining table, and a fully equipped kitchen—all of which were crucial to my choice. In reality, I was in a room inside the host’s home, not a self‑contained unit. Entry went through the host’s living area, and the bathroom was outside the room via a shared hallway, which on the last night was also shared with another guest. A locked door separated my room from another guest’s, but sound insulation was limited. There was no refrigerator, dining table, dining area, or guest kitchen. The kitchen had a “Do not enter” sign, and we were told at check‑in that guests couldn’t use it. The advertised washing machine was also unavailable; laundry could only be arranged for an extra fee, which was a hassle when traveling with a child in hot weather. Without a fridge, we couldn’t keep drinks cold or store food safely, so every time we needed cold drinks or fresh food we had to leave the property and drive somewhere else, greatly affecting comfort and convenience. Parking was on an uneven gravel area, and the access route was pitch‑black at night, forcing us to use phone lights to navigate back.
