Elektra Beach Hotel

I stayed in a clean, cozy room with all the comforts I needed, could brew tea, and there was water in the fridge. The breakfasts were plentiful. The room door was squeaky and the wind blew in at night. The breakfast dishes were cold and had to be reheated.

“Thank you, Sofia, for your wonderful and genuine service!”

We liked almost everything about our stay. The breakfast was generous, with plenty of options that varied each day, so it never felt dull. The hotel is in a great spot, close to Chania, with many lovely beaches nearby and a nice pool area. The real highlight was Sofia at the bar, who was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and service-minded, giving us great tips on local sights. Because of her, we spent almost every evening at the bar, which was always a pleasant experience. She’s someone you should take good care of! The only downside was that they didn’t offer beach towels. In a place where sun and swimming are the main activities, and with a large pool area, I expected guests to be able to borrow a towel. The receptionist told me they simply don’t provide them, and when I asked for extra towels I was also told no. When I mentioned this was poor service, the two gentlemen at reception didn’t even look up at me again during my 12‑night stay. As a hotel manager myself, I honestly think the reception staff could learn a thing or two about customer service. Sofia’s outstanding attitude, together with the lovely ladies at breakfast and the housekeeping team, significantly raised the overall impression of the hotel.

“SOL”

Good location and good service. This year the bed was very uncomfortable. I asked for the mattress to be changed, but it didn’t improve much. The room was smaller than in previous years, even though I made the same reservation as always.

“Nagyon elégedettek voltunk, csak ajánlani tudjuk mindenkinek :)”

The location is very good, close to Chania, the Ag. Apostoli beaches, and the bus stops almost in front of the house. The beach itself isn’t right in front, but it’s a few minutes’ walk in either direction. There are restaurants and shops nearby. There is no private parking, so we were a bit worried, but there were plenty of free spots on the street and we could always park. The hotel offers a wonderful sea view, the breakfasts were super good, and the bar girl was adorable. Everyone was helpful; unfortunately I got a bit ill, and they gave us a thermometer, extra blanket, and tea. On the departure day we left early, but the manager let us into the dining room, and we got coffee and pastries. It was great to be here. The hotel is separated from the sea by a busy road, and the noise was a bit disturbing when the window was open. One evening a large wedding party made a terrible noise on the poolside at night; this should be monitored better so it doesn’t happen. Most people come here to relax.
