Located on Lake Hallstatt’s edge, the 15th‑century Bräugasthof features a lakeside terrace restaurant serving Austrian cuisine. In the car‑free historic centre, it sits 100 m from the market square. Rooms offer wooden floors, lake views, satellite TV, hair‑dryer equipped bathrooms, and free public Wi‑Fi. A 2‑minute walk reaches the Archaeological Museum, boat landing, and ski bus to nearby Dachstein slopes.

The location is very good, the extra bed wasn’t prepared and the room had a few spiders, but the breakfast was good.

The location and views are excellent, the staff are nice and kind, and the centuries‑old property is well maintained. The breakfast was absolutely pathetic; the food was stale and had mould/fungus in it—watch out for that.

The balcony with the lake view was spectacular. Breakfast was good, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel’s decor was nice. The location was perfect. I liked everything.

The place had a great spot, a beautiful lake view from the balcony, a big bed, and it looked newly renovated. The bathroom wasn’t very clean. When we checked out we wanted the shuttle to pick us up right at the hotel—back when I stayed here three years ago the shuttle would stop in front of the hotel—but the staff told me to walk to Heritage Hotel to catch the bus, and then said I should walk to P1 instead, claiming it was shorter, even though it’s actually more than twice the distance! I don’t get why the bus can’t stop at the hotel and why P1 is supposedly closer than Heritage Hotel. I followed their advice, walked to P1, and the bus passed us while we were walking.
