The location was gorgeous, the beds were nice, and the apartment was huge. It was a shame there were no hangers in any wardrobe and no umbrella on the terrace. Since the terrace faces the courtyard and stays in the sun most of the day, it gets too hot to sit there without shade. The website even shows a photo of a large umbrella, so not having one was disappointing (and asking about it yielded no options).

I really soaked up the Tuscan atmosphere, which lived up to the wonderful setting I had imagined and never let me down, but the triple room I booked felt more like a two‑part suite where only the master bedroom had air‑conditioning, leaving the second room without it and making the summer night a bit uncomfortable.

The castle is stunning and well‑kept, and you can actually sleep inside it, experiencing a beautiful stay in the tower where everything has been modernised while still keeping historic touches. The sauna and Turkish bath in the tower are a great extra for anyone after a high‑end experience. Two pools in separate areas let you soak up breathtaking views surrounded by Chianti’s gorgeous nature. The beds are very comfortable and the climate control works perfectly. The minibar offers a selection of fine drinks. The walk down to the lower pool feels very disconnected and unsafe for people with mobility issues or small children, a detail that should be fixed soon because it affects the overall (excellent) impression of the place.
