The hotel is very well located, but the stairs to reach the fourth floor are a hassle.

The hotel is in the centre, which is great. As a motorcyclist with luggage, I was told in advance that I’d be on the 4th floor without an elevator. If I stay two days, I can’t get a key that needs to be reactivated each day. On the afternoon of the second day I walked past the reception, reached the 4th floor on foot, and found the key didn’t work. I went back to reception and they told me it had to be reactivated daily. How could they not tell me before I walked past and had to climb four floors with luggage? On the first day I noticed a sachet of shampoo and one for body in the room, which is a pity since the room was being used by two people. I went down to ask for more bathroom products, and it turned out the room hadn’t been cleaned for the two days. The shower was cold before the hot water came on (just lukewarm), so I waited 20 minutes. The shower head wasn’t fixed and rotated towards the wall, so I had to hold it with one hand and wash my hair with the other, like a tightrope walker. There was no air conditioner, just a simple fan. I don’t usually suffer from heat, but this year it was hot, and a structure can’t rely on a fan alone. It was a total nightmare. Even with minimal expectations, a basic level of decency is still required.

The hotel’s reception was always attentive and open 24/24, and the location in the city centre is convenient, not too far from the train station, with a large square next to it that has many terraces. The view is lovely and the street noise is muted for rooms on the 5th floor. It’s worth the climb because there’s no elevator, but the stairs are easy. I’ll keep the address for future stays!

I stayed at this rather old hotel, which works if you like that vibe. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good. The only downside is that it sits in a pedestrian zone, so getting there by car is a hassle, and there are many stairs with no elevator.
