The location was convenient. Unfortunately, the makeup remover supplied caused an allergic reaction; my eyes swelled so badly that even Benadryl didn’t help, leaving two black eyes after the swelling subsided a bit. Recovery will take about a week. I informed the staff, who said there was nothing they could do.

From the back balcony I could spot bears and other wildlife every day, which was a unique experience. The walk to downtown and nearby food spots was short. The balcony lights, however, never worked.

The hotel sits within walking distance of shops and the convention center. On arrival, tape was stuck to the door frame that led to the balcony—apparently to hold the weather stripping. A random sticker was left on the wall, and the towels were stained. An old shower chair was in the bathroom, and there was no place to set items while showering or getting ready. I was disappointed; it felt as if the place hadn’t been cleaned or maintained properly.

The location was fine. I suspect a flood happened last year, and the remodel looks rushed and cheap. The room carried a lingering damp smell and feel.
