The room I stayed in had a balcony. My balcony was adjacent to 2 other balconies, all 3 wrapped in 1 big bay window. Someone in the room next door was smoking cannabis on their balcony, which was technically indoors as the balcony’s do not open to the outdoors. The smoke filled my room, it reeked, and made me feel sick. I went down and spoke to staff in reception. I was offered a room change, but to a room without a bathroom, so I declined as I wanted the private bathroom. I asked if perhaps staff could reach out to the person in the next room and ask them to stop smoking. The hotel is a smoke free area, and there is a sign in the public areas advising of this. I strongly believe the person in the next room should have been spoken to, especially seeing as they were smoking an illicit substance that was affecting another individual
