The tatami floors gave a nice vibe and the room was roomy, but the hotel smelled very musty; our room had a smoky scent when we opened it. We kept all windows open to ventilate, which made it noisy because of the busy road next to the hotel, and the smoky smell would drift in as people moved around. The place felt like an old hospital or an elderly care home.

The staff’s friendly manner was a highlight, and having a family‑type bath added to the charm. The inn’s nostalgic Showa‑era retro vibe gave it a lot of character.
