A quiet spot with plenty of parking, but a blonde receptionist tried to upsell us to pricier rooms even though we had already booked and paid through Booking. She was unfriendly, refused to speak German, and seemed intent on taking more money from us. Aside from that, the hotel itself was fine and we’ve stayed there several times.

The hotel is a 10‑minute walk from the main train station, right in Cheb’s pedestrian zone, and another 5‑10 minutes gets you straight into the city centre. It isn’t ultra‑modern, but it’s perfectly acceptable, and the front desk even spoke German. I could add breakfast for €11 and pay in euros; the breakfast selection was small but adequate. From Saturday to Sunday, loud music from a nearby venue made it hard to sleep the first half of the night, and breakfast didn’t open until 8 a.m. on those days.

For Czech standards the room was clean and the breakfast generous. What I missed were bedside lamps; I’d have liked to read in bed, but only a ceiling light was available.

The location was good, but the room felt dated. I had booked a king‑size bed, not two separate beds, and the bathroom was bare with no single mirror—an odd omission in this day and age.
