The bed was huge and spotless, and the room itself was lovely. I didn’t enjoy that the window couldn’t open; even a tiny gap would have let in some fresh air, but it felt stuffy.

The hotel itself was nice and the room was very comfortable. We paid extra for breakfast, which I wish we hadn’t; it wasn’t hot and no one mentioned that eggs had to be ordered separately, something I only realized later.

The bar and restaurant staff were fantastic. They offered the best customer service experience we’ve had in recent times. We were not offered an additional bed in the family room, even though I asked Reception

Breakfast was very basic. I disliked having to collect everything from a central island where people were dipping their knives into jam and licking the knife—revolting and worrying about hygiene. The tea and coffee were very poor quality and utterly tasteless. The location was fairly good for me. The room mattresses were uncomfortable, clearly heavily used and in need of replacement. Some staff were more friendly and helpful than others.
