The breakfast was excellent, the staff were friendly, and the location was superb. The downside was that most people, both inside and outside the hotel, didn’t speak English.
The hotel is centrally located and the breakfast is plentiful, though it’s mostly oriental except for the cappuccino and espresso; the staff are welcoming and quick to address any issues. The rooms felt cold, the breakfast was only Turkish and hard to find options.
“Ein sehr schöner und entspannter Aufenthalt”
The property feels fairly new and well kept, and the team were incredibly kind, helpful and caring. Its spot is fantastic for strolling to the city centre, though the attractions a little farther out require transport. Breakfast was a dream for anyone who likes to eat early – nothing was missing, yet we found it so plentiful that on the second morning we only took what we actually wanted to eat.
“A beautiful gem in the most perfect location”
The hotel is stunning and beautifully designed, a perfect blend of history, culture and modernity. The rooms are gorgeous with excellent climate control for the hot weather. I loved the courtyard seating for guests. I’m so glad we booked this hotel as the location is just minutes walk from wonderful restaurants, gumruk Han (indoor market) and importantly, the Balikligol complex. You can spend an entire afternoon at Balikligol and take in the calm and serenity of the area. There are also museums (I recommend the Archeology and mosaic museum) just a 4 minute taxi ride away. The reception staff are very helpful and booked both of our transfer vehicles for us which we were very grateful for. My family would particularly like to thank Receb who was phenomenally hospitable, attentive and very kind. The night staff (I cannot remember his name) was also hospitable and helpful. I think the other day staff and kitchen would benefit from some additional training in professionalism. For instance, it’s not particularly professional to cook food and eat lunch/ dinner meals in front of guests without offering any kitchen service to guests. I did have to speak to reception staff about rooms and bathrooms needing proper cleaning on day 5 and this dealt with professionally and promptly. Breakfast was delicious and felt luxurious. My family was honoured to be served traditional and ottoman dishes and quality ingredients. However, given that we stayed at the hotel for six nights, the chef should have made some changes to the breakfast on day 4. Overall, I 100% recommend this hotel. If I return to Şanlıurfa, I will be staying at Zerzembe hotel. A beautiful gem. All explained!
The hotel looks lovely, though it isn’t wheelchair‑friendly. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly, especially the breakfast server who went out of his way to make everything easy for us. The location was excellent, within walking distance of the main sights, but breakfast didn’t start until 8:30 am, which felt a bit late in summer when you want to head out early to avoid the heat.
