“Disappointing stay for a hotel that promises much but delivers little. This was our worst hotel of 6 in our week holida”

The spot was gorgeous and super quiet, and the room was roomy with a balcony that had great views. The dinner food was pretty good, but we only got Coke or Sprite and we didn’t want either; no lime soda or hot drinks were offered. The fridge was broken, and when we asked we found out none of the fridges worked because of a gas problem – they should just remove them since they can’t actually be used. The rooms were not clean; floors were dirty and the backs of doors, curtains, plug points and other surfaces were unclean, which was disappointing. Hot water only worked after we complained to the manager. The place feels under‑invested, poorly trained staff, and neglected overall. The manager tried his best and some restaurant staff helped, but breakfast was awful: they wouldn’t let us have boiled eggs, only omelette, the bakery items were missing, and the staff seemed clueless about handling complaints.

“Stay away from this accommodation!”

The setting amid the tea plantation is pretty and the building itself is unique and interesting, but that’s where the positives end. The fridge never worked during our stay, and the Wi‑Fi barely ever worked from our room – it only seemed to work on the ground floor near reception. The room had an unpleasant smell, a sticky floor, and overall left a lot to be desired. No housekeeping arrived, and the bedsheet and duvet were stained with food and blood and had holes in several places. The mattress and sheets had a strong odor that made it hard to sleep and caused itching. Breakfast was limited and below average, especially considering the price. The bathroom curtain was mouldy, towels and supplies were minimal, and TV options were very limited. The building and location are nice, but it seems the ownership or management rely on the structure alone while doing the bare minimum. The staff need training; I don’t blame them for the condition of the rooms. I’d recommend staying elsewhere and just visiting the plantation for photos – it’s not worth the stay. It was the worst hotel stay we’ve ever had.

The hotel’s location and surroundings were nice, but that was basically the only good thing. We were very disappointed: no hot water in the bathroom, and despite reporting it, nothing was fixed. A large spider was in the room. The bathroom was in poor condition, with dirty walls and moisture stains. The pool was very dirty, and the fountain was even worse—extremely filthy and clearly neglected, as if it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Breakfast was another let‑down; with few guests, the table looked almost empty, and at one point there was literally one slice of toast left next to a dirty toaster. With such low occupancy, it’s hard to understand why breakfast couldn’t be properly prepared and replenished. We were also told we couldn’t pay with an international card, even though I had provided my card details for a non‑refundable reservation, creating another unnecessary issue at the end of our stay. The price was very high; the rate matched what you’d expect for a good, properly maintained hotel in the area, but the quality, cleanliness, and service were nowhere near that standard. Overall, there were too many unpleasant surprises. The property gives the impression that it is not being properly managed or maintained and that guest comfort is not a priority. The location is very good and the hotel has potential, but everything else was far below our expectations. Very poor value for money. Good location, but poor management, cleanliness and service. We would not stay here again.

“Amazing location”

Overall a good experience, but the constant nagging about checking out from 10:30 AM until we left was annoying.
