“Just Perfect”
I only wish the hotel would prohibit smoking on the property, especially on the balconies, but otherwise everything was fine.

The hotel was spotless, modern, and had a great spot with solid facilities. However, it wasn’t obvious when booking that the breakfast was only continental and a cooked option cost extra, which felt a bit unfair given the premium room rate.

The location and room were fantastic, staff were super friendly, and the food was amazing though a bit pricey. The bed was huge and comfy, and the room had a decent size. The bathroom fan made noise every time the light was switched on instead of only during showers, and my toddler bumped her head a few times on the glass of the small balcony—perhaps a sticker would help.

We received an upgrade to full breakfast on arrival, which we thought should have been included in the price given what we paid. The hotel sits right next to the beach, and the hourly bus into Salcombe was a lifesaver. The young staff were efficient, friendly, and caring. The spa was great, especially on rainy days, and the bed was very comfortable. Little touches like gin on arrival and bottled water throughout our stay were appreciated, and although the bedroom was a touch small, the balcony compensated for it. On arrival we were asked for a £50 deposit for breakages, something I’ve never encountered before. My husband’s foot was also hurt by a thick plastic jutting out from the bed.

The policy said no dogs, yet we were seated on the terrace and then told to move to a smaller table so non‑resident guests with dogs could have the best spot. Paying extra for cooked breakfast was also unbelievable.
