We had a most enjoyable stay just outside Oban. The lodge is perfectly located as a base for exploring the wider area, while being far enough away from the busier parts of Oban to feel peaceful and relaxing. With just three rooms, the lodge has a wonderfully intimate feel. There’s a small shared dining area for breakfast, although you can also choose to enjoy breakfast in your room or out on the terrace when the weather allows. Our room was spacious, clean and had everything you could want from a hotel stay. The thoughtful extras were a particularly nice touch; biscuits, local chocolates, bottled water, robes and a great selection of quality toiletries. It’s those little touches that really make a difference. The bed was very comfortable and the room also had underfloor heating if needed, as well as a fan, so everything was catered for whatever the weather. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and freshly prepared by Carol, who couldn’t have been a more welcoming host. She took the time to chat with us, share recommendations for the local area and make sure we had everything we needed. The extra local chocolates were very much appreciated! We would highly recommend the lodge as a base for exploring Oban and the surrounding area. The beautiful setting, peaceful location and personal touches offer excellent value for money, particularly if you’d prefer to stay away from some of the busier areas of Oban. The Aspen Lodge sits a little off the beaten path, giving a wonderfully quiet vibe. We were greeted warmly by the host. The room was beautifully furnished with comfortable beds. Breakfast offered everything one could wish for, always freshly prepared. We’d stay there again right away. Highly recommended!
