The owners, Mark and Alonso, are the reason this hotel works so well. They are a wonderful couple who pour their heart and soul into the business. Their care for each guest, the way breakfast is basically made, and the extra effort they put in to ensure you have the best possible stay in Cuenca are evident. We loved them; if you don’t, the problem is you. Leaving.

An absolute boutique gem in Cuenca! Casa Hibiscus Boutique Hotel is charming and wonderfully comfortable. The property is immaculately clean, with secure entry and the friendliest hosts. Its location is perfect—just a short walk to the historic district and easy access to the river. The storybook rooms feature cozy sitting sofas, spacious armoires, and beautifully updated, modern bathrooms. We loved the upstairs balcony attached to a public space fit for reading on rainy days, and the garden courtyard—complete with a fountain, lush plants, and hummingbirds—has a wonderful New Orleans charm. Breakfast was included and truly exceptional. Marc delights your senses with fresh, creative main plates, while Alonso prepares fresh fruit along with custom lattes, coffee, and herbal infusions to your exact liking. A true gem in a sea of hotels—we would stay here again in a heartbeat!
