The place was spotless, quiet and soothing; the hostel’s community vibe made us feel like family. Watching sunrise and sunset, kayaking, sleeping in hammocks, cycling, or just hanging out and napping were the highlights—thanks to its calm, peaceful setting. The only drawback was the road leading up; it’s dark and uneven in spots, which might explain the seclusion. A detailed price list for all activities would have helped plan better, but everything was inexpensive for the value received, so no real complaints.

The location and infrastructure are solid, and the caretaker Abil is a genuinely nice person. The only issue was that smoking was allowed on the premises; a guest smoked outside the main gate and the secondhand smoke bothered me.

This hostel is ideally positioned for a laid‑back nature escape. From the veranda you can see the lake, and the property even offers its own lake access for swimming and kayaking. You can relax in hammocks or join guided mountain bike tours or mangrove kayak tours. Ababil, the host, makes all of this possible!

“Beautiful stay in the backwaters”

I had a fantastic time here. The rooms are very comfortable, the property feels modern and clean, the home‑cooked food is amazing, and you can kayak or cycle around the island. Staying longer is easy because the atmosphere is so peaceful and relaxing. Uday is a great host who always ensures you’re enjoying yourself.
