The garden is nice, but four guests shared a tiny room with stacked beds.

The courtyard was cozy, with a few tables to eat and a bar in the evenings. The pool wasn’t clean when we were there.

The pool, garden, overall place, Mario’s good vibe, and the night of the Argentina match were all fantastic. Because we’re volunteers who don’t speak Spanish and don’t know the area, getting advice or finding places is hard; volunteers have to learn about the location and speak the country’s language.

I loved staying at Old Bells; it’s very peaceful and everything is within walking distance. It’s a bit far from downtown, but a bus stop nearby lets me catch a bus. It’s close to the terminal for trips to other cities and to the main attractions around Santa Ana, like the volcano terminal. I love the staff, and the hostel’s atmosphere makes me feel right at home.
