The generous grounds sit wonderfully in a large clearing of a wide forest area. Cozy indoor and outdoor seating allowed us to enjoy the hotel in any weather. Both breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant were very good, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The Château de Chambord is just around the corner. Markus

The hotel itself is great, a beautiful building with fantastic grounds for walking, right in the middle of nature. The pool is beautiful and the rooms are nice, though a bit small. We arrived around 20:00 for check‑in after a long drive, hoping to have drinks or a snack, only to find the hotel restaurant closed and the place almost abandoned – luckily the owner was there and kindly offered to pick up some pizzas for us. The lady at reception gave us two glasses of wine and we made the most of it! Compliments on how they handled the situation. The first night set the tone for restaurant availability, as it was closed two out of the four days. We wanted a hotel where our baby daughter could sleep while my wife and I dined, but we were limited to two evenings and had to arrange something ourselves the other nights. It would have been nice to know this upfront, especially since nothing nearby is within walking distance and many places were closed.

Very special location in the forest, very relaxing and quiet. The restaurant was practically always closed and the food was reheated.

The environment is magical and grand; we couldn’t do all the activities because the estate is huge. The upgrade! The pool is superb, the décor is meticulous, and the staff’s kindness and availability, especially at breakfast, and the owner’s attentiveness… The room lacks curtains, which is annoying given the view and especially the lack of a curtain in the bathroom even though the rod is there!
