“Kurze Nacht in einem schönen mit Holzofen gewärmten Cottage auf einem tollen Campingplatz”
We booked a so‑called cottage that was very tidy. It had a covered roof, a living room with a wood stove and kitchen, a bathroom with a cabin shower, and a small bedroom. We could park our rental car right in front of the door. Because we arrived late at night and it was a bit cold in August, we lit the wood stove immediately upon arrival thanks to the ready‑made supplies like wood and a lighter. Thank you for that! The camping site in Røldal is a nice large campground with various areas, houses, cottages, space for tents or campers. Unfortunately, the campground had no E‑charging station (none was visible or signposted). The battery of our E‑rental car was already in the reserve area (using the car with heating and lights at night drained the battery faster than expected, the remaining range halved in some cases :-( ). I then took the second charger in the trunk, plugged it into a regular outlet through a window, and managed to charge about 20 % overnight so we could keep traveling the next day, at least until a (fast) charging station was a) operational and b) not occupied. Warning: don’t trust the E‑car range figures and always charge the rental car to 100 % if you’re traveling a lot, even if 80 % is recommended.
“Cabaña en un lugar precioso.”
The place feels very cozy, set in a gorgeous environment close to the lake.
The cabin is spacious with a nice view and the facilities are fine. The beds aren’t that comfortable and there’s no kettle in the cabin, unlike what was advertised.
I stayed at a super cool campsite, well maintained, surrounded by mountains and charming cabins. The setting is beautiful and you can go on hikes or drive out for excursions right from there. The shared toilets are a bit small, but they’re very clean.
A tiny cottage in a lakeside camp, very pleasant and quiet. Nothing to complain about.
