“Great apartment”

The spot is great, and checking in or out even after midnight was a breeze, plus the room itself was solid. The price was honestly good, couldn’t ask for more. The downside is that it’s on a 4th or 5th floor with no elevator, so carrying bags is a bit of a workout and every time you climb up you notice it.

We felt completely deceived. We arrived at the apartment at 23:00 after our flight and the keys weren’t in the coded box as agreed. We tried contacting the owner repeatedly with no luck. Finally he answered, and with no other option, sent us to another apartment 20 minutes away, walking in the middle of the night in very cold Budapest just so we could sleep instead of being on the street. The next morning we were forced back to the original apartment because we couldn’t stay in the second place. When we got back to the first apartment, the keys were wrong again, so we couldn’t enter. The whole thing was chaotic and hard to believe, and deplorable. They gave us room 5 because it was the only set of keys they had on hand. After we complained, the owner promised to refund the first night, but never did. Even Booking tried to mediate and ask for responsibility, but the accommodation refused any solution or compensation. They lied all the time. As they probably lie when answering this complaint written here. Also, the price is high for the condition: lack of cleanliness, neglected facilities, and conditions far below what the photos show. Consider other options. Sometimes it’s better to pay a bit more and guarantee a smooth stay instead of dealing with this type of situation, especially late at night with such unprofessional service. We’re tourists who want to have fun, not argue. I do not recommend it at all.

The location and the price were good. The room was unbearably dirty with bugs and a nasty smell.

The place is close to the train station and you can walk to interesting spots in the city. The house is in the old terraced style, but unfortunately it’s generally poorly maintained, which is a shame because the houses are beautiful. The room wasn’t quiet because other tenants shared the apartment.

The best thing is the location.
