The setting was gorgeous, with a fire that celebrated the local forestry and birds, and everything else was great, but finding the entrance was a struggle; a landmark pointing to the cheese shop across the street would have helped.

The accommodations were beautiful, breakfast was delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the walking trails behind the house were a bonus; I’d highly recommend Crannach House B&B to family and friends.

The room was clean and the bathroom lovely, though it stayed a bit warm and cooling it was hard; we hesitated to open the window at night for fear of midges, though that fear may have been unfounded, and breakfast was tasty with a window seat offering a fun view of bird feeders and hundreds of small birds, which was calming; the only slight issue was feeling a bit awkward after breakfast when we lingered while they cleaned up, but overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The rooms were spotless, the staff were lovely, and the breakfast was excellent; the newly redecorated rooms added extra charm. The only drawback was the shower, where the water pressure was very slow, and I also disliked that the hotel was a bit far from town, leaving no restaurant on site.

We felt very comfortable; the house team was friendly and accommodating. Despite being on a main road, the place was quiet and close to nature, which bird lovers would appreciate. Our room was clean and matched the description, especially the spacious, newly renovated bathroom. Both Aberdeen and Ballater/Balmoral are easily reachable by car, and there are walking trails. Across the street, a café offers an inexpensive AC charging station, which is very useful in this area.
