The food at both dinner and breakfast was exceptional, with fresh local produce and impeccable service.
The hotel's unique charm and warm atmosphere made us feel right at home.

“Decaying grandeur. Lost in time, very dated.”
Breakfast was acceptable, but the evening meal service was lacking; we waited a long time for dessert and it felt ignored.
“Beautiful location Good food but spoilt by the standard of facilities”
The food was great and the staff were very pleasant, but the interior furnishings were dated and faded, the dirt around the window frames and bathroom Velux was noticeable, the towels were of extremely poor quality, and there was no hair conditioner. It’s a shame this iconic hotel remains stuck in a 1960s time warp with little upkeep.
After a wet cycle ride we were well taken care of, given a safe spot for our bikes, and could easily dry clothes on the radiators; the dinner that evening was superb.
“A quirky place with excellent seafood”
The location and food were good, and the staff were attentive. However, the hotel needs a makeover, and the classic room we stayed in was cramped with outdated décor and furnishings.
The location was beautiful and the room was huge.
