Located on Isla del Sol Island, off the coast of Copacabana, Casa de la Luna offers stunning views of Lake Titicaca and the Andes Mountains. This island retreat features well-equipped rooms with private bathrooms, free toiletries, and linens. Enjoy local cuisine at the on-site restaurant, bar, and garden, or explore the island's ancient temples, including the Temple of the Sun, Pilkokaina, a 30-minute walk away.

The rooms are cozy, the location is good, and the hotel is run by a family who were very friendly throughout our stay.

The view was absolutely gorgeous—I booked the corner room with sunrise views. Since there are no cars on the island, you have to hike up to the hotel, so bring light gear! The owners, Domitilia and Angel, were very nice. Breakfast was served in the window dining area. The bed was comfortable and the heavy blankets with an electric heater kept us warm. I had read about the tricky shower and the limited hot‑water hours, so I washed my hair the day before and skipped the shower entirely; it was only an overnight stay, so washing with a washcloth was fine.

The views from the room are spectacular, the room is spacious, and the décor is tastefully Andean.

The location and scenery were nice, but the basic conditions were lacking: the shower used an electric hot water system, and the room had an electric radiator that barely kept the temperature up when it was only a few degrees outside.
