“Worst place I’ve ever stayed”
I stayed in a room that was constantly rattled by a dirty, noisy alarm, and the shouting arguments made it impossible to sleep; nothing was positive.

The place was disgustingly awful; I wouldn’t recommend it to a solo female traveller. It was filthy and I couldn’t even stay there.

The owner was very nice, helpful and understanding, the room stayed warm, the shower was hot and everything worked well, there was plenty of parking, and the location was good for buses, shops, cafes, and pubs just up the road – a great value for money. The only downside was that the front of the building is close to the main road, so if you pick a front room like I did, you’ll hear the traffic, though it didn’t bother me.

I found it hard to like the place because it was extremely dirty – used underwear in a drawer, a smelly room, dirty floor, dirty toilet, and spiderwebs everywhere. I asked the staff for a better room, but they said none were available, even though I saw a few that looked good in the corridor. The staff were a bit okay, but the hotel was close to the restaurant kitchen, so it was noisy. Cleanliness is a basic expectation, even for a budget hotel, and it was lacking.

The hotel was nice and clean, offered good value for money, had a convenient location, and plenty of parking spaces.
