The room was clean, staff were pleasant. However, there were an extreme number of mosquitoes in the room even though the stay was at the end of September, and there were marks on the walls from how they were killed by other guests.

Clean. The room was small and they don't have matrimonial beds.

The stay left a very good impression; breakfast was still available later in the day, the staff were helpful, and parking was convenient. The only thing missing in the room was a mosquito net on the windows, as there were quite a few insects that would have settled in, and a small fridge would have been nice too.

We used the tiny balcony with seating for quick refreshments, and the village was quiet with birds chirping, letting us soak up the slow pace. We spent time at the open‑air thermal pool in Banovce n. Bebravou, about a 10‑minute car ride, which felt great. A restaurant on the ground floor could be found, but we left too early to try it. WiFi was acceptable, making it a good quick stop before heading to the Pohoda festival. Mosquito nets were missing on the windows, so the hot weather and airing the room after sunset invited insects for dinner. We didn’t have a double bed, but given the late reservation and limited accommodation during the Pohoda festival in Trencin, we just accepted it. The rooms are on the first floor with no elevator; the stairs are a bit steep, and the open steps made me dizzy.

We really enjoyed staying at Penzion Carlos. The rooms sit above the restaurant, which is very convenient. Every morning we had a hearty, delicious breakfast that kept us energized for the day. The restaurant also offers a lunch menu, so we could easily enjoy a good meal without looking elsewhere. The owners were incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating, making us feel at home throughout our stay. Although we don’t have children, we noticed that the garden next to the restaurant has a nice playground with a trampoline, a playhouse, and plenty of toys, making it great for families. Secure parking behind a locked gate was another huge advantage. The whole property offers a peaceful, quiet atmosphere, making it a perfect place to relax. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend Penzion Carlos.
