“Keine Minute Privatsphare”
The room was clean with a nice view and close to the city centre. However, the staff’s overly eager presence made me feel personally overwhelmed; they hovered at the entrance and exit, constantly giving new information in French, then English, and even promised German service, which was unexpected. I only speak French, and when they switched to English they seemed impatient, so French should have been the only language used for that group. I couldn’t build a trusting relationship because I felt I had no privacy at all—there was no isolation, and people could hear me in the hallway. I have Asperger’s syndrome, so that sensory overload caused me to sleep poorly as conversations were frequent. My needs were ignored, which hurt me deeply. My room was cleaned without being asked, and there was no “do not disturb” sign on the door or any mention of it. Even though it was meant to be a courtesy, I would have appreciated a conversation or a heads‑up that the scent was unpleasant. Also, the cleaning information should have been more considerate, as I value my privacy and wanted the option to sort my clothes and keep certain items hidden from view.
