We’re seasoned travelers, and compared to other 5‑star spots, this resort really didn’t live up to the top‑rated label. The villa with a private pool felt spacious and comfy, the TV worked fine but Wi‑Fi was spotty (we know it’s the telecom provider, not the resort). The day safari we booked was enjoyable, and both driver and guide did a solid job. However, we were extremely annoyed that our requests for activity and price info were ignored multiple times; we were even sent the wrong PDF brochure or left hanging. When we confronted the front desk and manager, we got two completely different stories. The restaurant was inconsistent—some days only a la carte was offered, and they didn’t tell guests about the change. On those days, the staff seemed totally out of depth, poorly trained, and couldn’t handle orders, which was very disappointing, especially since the resort was nearly empty after many travelers canceled due to the Iran war. The first day’s chicken had barely any meat, mostly bones and cartilage; after telling the manager, the chicken improved and became meaty. When a buffet was served, the meal time started at 8 pm, which is too late for a resort of this reputation. When ordering a la carte, some items were missing from the menu, both food and drinks. The room lacked basic necessities: housekeeping came daily but no new toiletries were supplied, which is a problem for multi‑day stays. There was no information book, so we didn’t know how to connect to Wi‑Fi or use the safe (annoyingly we had to call front desk twice to get someone). The room also didn’t have swimming towels, only white bathroom towels, even though the villa has a private pool.

We were bumped up to a villa with a private pool. The bed was very comfortable and we loved the spa bath. Food was good. The safari guide was great and we really enjoyed the boat trip and jeep tour. We also liked the cultural dance session, it was fun to join in. On the downside, there were various Wi‑Fi issues, the door wouldn’t lock, and there were splinters in the floorboards. We found it challenging to communicate with the older manager to get things sorted and to book our tours. It’s a nice resort but could use a bit of renovation.
