“Jolie maison traditionnelle”

The location was exceptional, and the charm of a small traditional house was delightful. The futon was not very comfortable, so I stacked two futons together. No one was visible, but the explanations were clear. However, Booking listed the checkout at 11 am while the place said 9 am, which made me a bit stressed about leaving.

The place is great, close to Itsukushima Shrine and Daisho-in. A few spots were not cleaned properly.

Check‑in and check‑out were easy, and we had the whole house to ourselves, so there was plenty of space for luggage. The walk from the ferry port to the house was pleasant, with a nice café and pottery studio nearby. The price was extremely good compared to the rest of the island, and the house’s aesthetic was quite charming. We enjoyed a nice sunset from the balcony. The building is old, so it was predictably cold; the bedroom warmed up quickly when the door was shut, and the bedding was excellent. Going to the bath or toilet was unpleasant, though. The bath water didn’t run hot and wasn’t very clean by Japanese standards. I couldn’t figure out how to use the kettle, so I couldn’t make any hot drinks—maybe that was just user error.
