The room was large, clean and comfortable, yet there were no beers except Stella, which my husband dislikes, and the only bottled beer was non‑alcoholic; only Chardonnay wine was served in a tiny glass instead of a proper wine glass. We had driven for 6 hours and expected a nice dinner, but all we got were microwavable pizza and lasagne, no dessert, and the food wasn’t cheap; the lasagne was over‑cooked. I know the hotel has just been taken over, but it shouldn’t have opened until ready; the barman kept running off to microwave food for other guests so the bar was left unattended, which reminded us of Fawlty Towers.

I liked the location and the staff were clean and friendly, but the shower felt a bit too small.
