The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and offers a dreamy view of the lake. The spa area is also lovely and invites you to relax. Overall, it’s a truly great hotel with a wonderful atmosphere. The only thing we found a bit disappointing was the water temperature in the spa. Both the indoor and outdoor pools were not warm enough to fully enjoy the beautiful outdoor view; we had to head back inside after a short time because of the cold. A slightly higher temperature would be desirable. In other hotels we’ve seen the outdoor water much warmer, sometimes even steaming, which lets you stay outside comfortably even on cooler days.

“War nicht mehr wie früher darum überlege ich ob ich wieder kommen werde.”

The Relax Salzsteingrotte is perfect for unwinding. Great job. However, the two steam baths lack a foot rest rail like the old green Danpfbad, which would enhance total relaxation. It’s also disappointing and confusing that smoking is no longer allowed on the terrace, while people are still allowed to sit at tables below. Another regret is that we, two people in separate rooms, could only receive either the chocolate or the wine, not both as before. The postcards and the writing pad are also missing now.

The wellness area is excellent, the sea‑facing rooms offer a great view, and the Sunday breakfast brunch is superb, all complemented by outstanding service from everyone at the hotel. The Thai restaurant could be clearer about its menu – a simple à la carte option is highly requested. Requiring a minimum consumption of three courses per person does not align with current expectations.

Staying for Sunday brunch gives great value for money. Everyone on staff is friendly and professional. Rooms get quite warm in summer, and there’s no water cooker or coffee machine in the rooms.
