The view was gorgeous, the people were friendly, the food was delicious, and Kawas, our host and guide, was fantastic and spoke English very well; the only downside was that the power sometimes went out, but our host couldn’t do anything about that.

We booked this place at the last minute and weren’t disappointed; the setting is stunning, the owners are sweet and helpful, they arranged a pick‑up from the airport, we could dine on site in a peaceful atmosphere, and they can also organize jungle treks—though we didn’t get to do one, the owner talks passionately about the jungle and champions nature preservation.

The location, deeper into the jungle from Bukit Lawang, was great—simple yet very peaceful, surrounded by breathtaking nature with monkeys coming and going; the food was tasty even if options were limited, and the owner was a knowledgeable guide who cared about animals and nature; WiFi in the room was spotty, but otherwise everything worked well—remember to bring your own soap.
