“Koh Lan, our long delayed stayx”
The owners and staff were pleasant and helped us with our heavy luggage up the stairs. The view across the rooftops of the beachfront premises was nice, but the roof blocked a clear sunset view, which was why we chose this beach over east‑facing ones. It’s close to many restaurants, bars, beach chairs, and a 7‑Eleven, and Koh Lan is beautiful; we toured many lovely spots. However, the advert said seafront, but it’s actually up an alleyway and not on the beach as implied. The ad suggested breakfast from 8 to 10, but we were told there is no meal option; the next‑door restaurant is fine, but the ad implied the charge included breakfast. The bed is the Thai “firm” type, and after three days both my wife and I had sore backs—probably due to age. The room isn’t especially large, yet it includes a permanent single bed in addition to the double bed, even though children are explicitly not welcome; I’m not sure what that extra bed is for. Overall, it didn’t match our expectations for a premium price.
