“Very nice pub in great location.”
We were visiting IWM Duxford, so the location was perfect. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was a decent size, with nice toiletries and a good selection of teas and a cafetière coffee machine with a decent kettle. Breakfast was served in the main building and the eggs Benedict were delicious. The staff were helpful and friendly, and I don’t think the small details would deter me from staying again at this lovely pub in a great location. The room was comfortable, but the weather made it very hot and stuffy—close the windows and curtains to keep the heat out. Coffee and tea were provided, but the sugar was in a teabag plate that clearly hadn’t been washed in weeks. There was only one glass of water. These small details stand out when they’re off. The toiletries in the bathroom were almost empty and the nozzles could use a wipe, as could the bottles—again, small details that make you question what else might be skimped on. Breakfast was very good in terms of food, but the service was a little chaotic. Cups arrived without saucers; we asked the waitress for sweetener and she eventually brought sugar. We then had to ask for a spoon to stir it. Milk came in a small copper saucepan that dripped everywhere. (All the jugs were in the wash!)
