Because of a small mix‑up my private room was no longer available, so I was stuck in the male dorm without AC or a fan; the bathroom facilities were also not impressive, there was no hot water, and I had to repeatedly remind the staff. That all led me to leave the accommodation that evening after my trek, needing more comfort, but the owner was friendly and apologized.

The lodge, surrounded by nature, felt far from the town’s hustle and bustle, allowing a relaxed stay, and the staff’s service was good.

It’s a quiet spot right on the lakeside, great for escaping crowds yet still within a few minutes’ walk of everything; the garden and yoga studio are definite pluses. Deepak and his partner are lovely and make you feel like family. Some dogs bark early in the morning or late at night, but overall it’s a good balance between quiet and liveliness.
