“This was a very disappointing vacation. I truly believe the units were not properly cleaned.”
I’m reluctant to write this because I had a fantastic stay in March for my birthday with my husband, and that’s why I came back September 7–12, 2026, with my family. This time it was the complete opposite. We booked two units for 10 people, including elderly relatives and kids, and ran into a ton of problems. The units looked only partially cleaned, with stained towels, washcloths, blankets, dirty dishes, garbage, dead flies, and items left by previous guests. We also found roaches, a huge number of mosquitoes inside, and ants near one unit’s back door. We spent $30 on three cans of OFF because the bites were relentless. Other issues were a bubbling countertop, a water leak that forced maintenance to put a bucket on the floor, cigarette butts on the balcony, awful smells, and a shower that looked moldy. My mother was so uncomfortable she started showering downstairs with her shoes on. Kitchen utensils were melted or falling apart, dishes were dirty, and the pots and pans were extremely old and scratched. We had to buy air fresheners. I called the office, and although the woman was nice, moving units was hard with 10 people and all our stuff unpacked. I first called around 7 AM on September 8 but the office didn’t answer until noon. I eventually stopped calling because I didn’t want to spend my vacation constantly complaining. Maintenance was polite and professional, but I don’t think enough was done to fix our concerns. I also got rude and dismissive treatment from a man when I called for help with the television. The most embarrassing part was recommending this resort to my family based on my earlier experience, only for everyone to complain the whole trip. We spent as much time outside as possible because we were uncomfortable in the units. I have photos that document many of these issues.
