“Authentic home stay style within easy drive of the sites, great value.”

We had a truly authentic rural retreat, all to ourselves, with a lovely garden where jasmine scented the air at night; the place was spotless and comfortable. The lady was friendly, chatty, and helpful, even leaving home‑grown bananas for us. Breakfast could be bought if desired. A car is essential, but the bridge area is only about 20 minutes away, and the main cemetery another 5 minutes. Lotus Fresh supermarket is 5 minutes away. Since the main JEATH museum was permanently closed, we drove to Hell Fire Pass instead (1 hour on easy roads) and were glad we did; the modern museum funded by Australia offers great interpretation and a short walk to the cutting—brilliant. The only downside was that the satnav pin led to a main intersection and left us to find the property ourselves; we eventually used Google Translate to locate Moo 1, which was a bit stressful.

1. ไม่ไกลจากแหล่งชุมชน แต่ต้องมีรถยนต์ครับ เจ้าของอัธยาศัยดีครับ 2 ไมได้ดูน่ากลัวอย่างที่คิด น่าอยู่ ด้วยซ้ำไปดูสะอาดครับ ถ้าอยากปลีกวิเวกจากในเมืองกรุง 3 ห่างจากแยกแก่งเสี้ยน ประมาณ 6-7 นาที และถ้าเลยไปอีก 2-3 นาที ก็จะเป็นแหล่งชุมชนลาดหญ้า ซึ่งมีของขายของกินเยอะแยะครับ มีร้านข้าวแกงที่อยู่ริมถนนเปิดแต่เช้า และเลยไปหน่อยมีซอยตลาดเช้าอยู่ก่อนไฟแดง ของกินเยอะแยะครับ 3 ที่พักไม่ไกลจากถนนหลักมากครับ ที่พักนานๆทีจะมีรถชาวบ้านวิ่งผ่าน ทำให้ไม่น่ากลัวครับ 4 เหมือนอยู่บ้านเลยครับ เยื้องประตูบ้านมี อ่างปลา แล้วมีน้ำไหล ดังเบา เบา ช่วยให้ผ่อนคลาย หลังห้องพักมีสวนส่วนตัวครับ 4 การจัดเตียงภายในห้องทำดีแม้ห้องไม่ใหญ่ แต่ภรรยาและลูก ไปแย่งกันนอนเตียงเล็กครับ 5 แล้วแต่จริตแต่ละคน แต่สำหรับผมเดี๋ยวคงหาโอกาสไปซ้ำแน่นอนครับ ^_^. 1 ประตูห้องน้ำตรงแม่ธรณี ประตูด้านล่าง มีสันประตูที่สูงไปหน่อยครับ ถ้าปรับต่ำกว่านี้ได้อีกสักครึ่งนึงน่าจะดีครับ 2 ในห้องน้ำควรจะมีพัดลมดูดอากาศตัวเล็กๆสักตัวครับ 3 ในห้องพักควรจะปรับให้มีโต๊ะกับเก้าอี้ อเนกประสงค์สักอย่างละตัวครับ

I loved everything – the room was super clean, the location is quiet and not far from the market, and the staff were incredibly kind and affectionate, treating us like family.

The place had a natural vibe, quiet and reflective of the locals’ lifestyle, though I’d advise keeping an eye out for mosquitoes around dusk.
