“Google before bookingp”

I didn’t like anything. I blame myself for writing this review because it was recommended. In short, it was awful. The young girl at reception seemed almost inhuman. When I entered the room it was a shock: the blinds were badly stained, curtains were hanging off, windows wouldn’t stay open and hadn’t been cleaned for months, there were cobwebs and many bugs, woodwork was stained, the toilet was dirty, the bath had only one tap working and the other fell off when I tried it. The room telephone to call reception didn’t work and was filthy and sticky. The cushions had tears, the carpet was stained. I found this out by Googling the next morning; it turns out the place is closing as planning goes through for housing. The other two staff were very nice but I felt sorry for them having to work there and deal with all the bad reviews, and I expect customers to be angry. I should have advised them. I won’t use this website again after over ten years of using it.

The bed was the only thing in the room that was clean and fresh. Everything else was cheap and not cheerful. I booked two nights, but one was enough. I went to breakfast but there was nothing I could eat, so I left immediately as a diabetic looking for somewhere else to eat.

I didn’t get to use the room. When I arrived, I was told it was fully booked. I tried to get a refund but didn’t, so what should I rate? The fact that I didn’t get a room even though I booked it online and it was fully booked but my money was taken.

The windows wouldn't stay open, making the room unbearably hot, and there were marks all around the space; the floor looked grubby and the overall condition was disappointing.
