“Maximal solide. Aber der Preis dazu passt nicht.”
The location and the spacious outdoor area with pond and the like. Openly we were disappointed. We had been here for vacation a few years ago and then the pension lived up to the hospitality and friendliness. We experienced very little of that this time. The staff seemed rather distant, the drinks, whether wine, beer or soft drinks, were in the fridge but the fridge was not plugged in (no joke!) – the drinks were warm. Then we had the whole day in the house we were in, and that means really the whole day, noise from work with a jackhammer. The pension was far from fully booked, so we could have been accommodated in another building, because these works were not a surprise. In the evenings and at night we were in the middle of a school class – whose supervisor apparently was in another building. One can imagine how much sleep we got. Here and there the rooms also seemed a bit rough and could perhaps use a basic renovation. That is also a matter of taste, I do not want to criticize that. Our assessment is also that the food, which in the past was always quite unique, may no longer be particularly handmade. So it seemed that way at least. Not bad, but also nothing special. And if you cannot order something like vegetables with the morning omelette with ham and cheese because it is not on the menu, then you may have doubts about it being handmade. Where else would the problem be, if you have to cut mushrooms and peppers into it? In between we were almost somewhat reconciled, because the chef, Mr. Bizau, was on site. He is really friendly, comes for a conversation and an anecdote to the table and takes care of it. But this “luck” lasted only briefly.
