I was close to the highway entrance but the place was still quiet; the leaves in front of our garden door could have been wiped away, a minor detail.

The hotel was stunning in a pastoral setting, the room was gorgeous and the breakfast hearty and delicious; dinner at the hotel was extraordinary, and we would have stayed longer.

The staff were welcoming and efficient, the room was huge (8), and the car park was right outside the door, which was very handy. It’s near the motorway yet surprisingly peaceful. It isn’t cheap, but nothing good is these days. The only downside was the lack of a small fridge in the room.

The location near the motorway is great yet still very quiet. The restaurant is excellent, and the place is very dog‑friendly.
